An adventurous, soon heroic Journey
Accompany Elsa, a spirited teen-age girl who has just moved to a small town called Home with her mother. Set out on a quest full of mysteries to unravel: Why does the ancient game board in the Slumberwoods work only for you? What does the Elder know about it? Who was that guy they call the ‘Wizard’, and could he maybe still exist?
Class Selection
At the start of the game, choose between two classes with different skills and, occasionally, slightly different events taking place in the game world. Do you want to get up-close and personal as a Fighter, dual-wielding electrified viking blades, or play the supporter’s role of a Tinker, healing and buffing your robotic allies? It’s up to you!
Character Customisation
Configure the skill setups of your actors whenever you like! Choose between a large number of powerful skills and find the perfect setup against the enemy combinations you encounter. Take advantage of skill synergies in order to defeat even the hardest bosses!
Play the expanded and streamlined Remake!
You don’t need to have played Game Master in order to enjoy Game Master Plus: As an expanded and streamlined remake, this game tells essentially the same story and contains (almost) everything that Game Master had to offer – and builds upon it.

Fighter
Seismic Smash
MP: 4
Deals 75% fire damage to all enemies with a 50% chance to cause Stun. Certain hit. When you find yourself under heavy attack, interrupt your enemies with an earthquake. It’s that easy.
Subzero Strike
MP: 2
Deals 100% ice damage and causes Stun. Skill of choice against single heavy hitters.
Sizzle Sabre
MP: 1
Raises ATK by 10% and makes normal attacks deal electro damage. Lasts until the end of battle.
Furore
MP: 1
For 2 turns, maximises the user’s Critical Hit Rate and prevents Stun, but also doubles MP Costs. Best used before a tough battle from the menu, so you can start with the serious bashing right away.
Shields
Shield Bash
MP: 2
Deals physical damage, then grants the user Taunt. You kind of want to play the tank, but you also kind of want to deal damage? Or you kind of don’t have an idea what would be best to do? Well, here you go. This is practically also a Fighter skill. It’s not learnt via level-up, though, but bound to shields. The stronger the shield, the higher the rank of this skill.
Tinker
Shatter
MP: 4
Deals physical damage, removes buffs and permanently halves DEF. A devastating attack on several levels.
Quick Fix
MP: 1
Revives a robot at 1 HP. Please be careful nonetheless. And yes, the icon may very well represent a reset button.
Induce
MP: 1
Doubles MP of all robots. It can be difficult to create an ideal scenario for using this to the greatest effect, but if you do, it’s pretty awesome.
Overclock Charge
MP: 1
Maximises a robot’s Critical Hit Rate, but degenerates HP by 5%. Only one charge at a time. The robotic equivalent to the Fighter skill Furore, if you will.
Standby Charge
MP: 1
Raises a robot’s HP Regeneration by 25%, but seals its skills. Lasts 3 turns. Only one charge at a time. Best used on a robot that doesn’t deal much damage with skills anyway (that is, your tank, healer or supporter).
Spellblade
Pyro Edge
MP: 3
Deals fire damage and causes Burn. Requires an axe. The upgraded version absorbs the damage dealt.
Chillwind
MP: 3
Deals ice damage to all enemies with a chance to cause Freeze. Certain hit. The upgraded version bypasses enemy defence.
Trine
MP: 3
Deals holy damage to 3 random enemies with a chance to cause Stun. Ranged attack. The upgraded version always stuns.
Healing Bubble
MP: 1
Raises HP Regeneration by 25% until taking damage. The upgraded version affects all actors.
Vigour
MP: 1
Raises the user’s Counter Rate by 30% and Aggro by 400% for 3 turns. The upgraded version takes effect right at the start of the action phase, ensuring all enemy attacks are drawn and countered.
Fortuna’s Kiss
MP: 1
Raises the user’s Critical Hit Rate, Block Rate, Combo Rate and Evasion Rate by 15%. The upgraded version can be used on allies too.
Cannons
Fire Shot
MP: 1
Deals 150% fire damage. Ranged attack. Since this is your very first cannon skill, be careful not to burn yourself! Just kidding, it won’t happen.
Fire Blast
MP: 3
Deals 200% fire damage and causes Burn. Ranged attack. The fireworks alone are reason enough to use this on everything!
Inferno
MP: 4
Deals 100% fire damage to all enemies with a 50% chance to cause Burn. Certain hit. Pyromancers approve!
Ice Shot
MP: 1
Deals 150% ice damage. Ranged attack. It’s like Fire Shot, only cooler. I mean, literally.
Ice Blast
MP: 3
Deals 200% ice damage and causes Freeze. Ranged attack. Leaves a track suited for ice skating.
Boreas
MP: 4
Deals 100% ice damage to all enemies with a 50% chance to cause Freeze. Certain hit. Has two main applications: Kill monsters and climatise buildings.
Electro Shot
MP: 1
Deals 150% electro damage. Ranged attack. Don’t try to charge your phone with this attack.
Electro Blast
MP: 2
Deals 200% electro damage with a 50% chance to cause Blind. Ranged attack. The sheer brightness of electric sparks is generally underestimated in games. I’m here to fix that: In Game Master Plus, the elemental debuff associated with electro attacks is, in fact, Blind.
Glarening
MP: 5
Deals 250% electro damage to a random enemy and causes Stun and Blind. Ranged attack. Reality hits you hard, bro, but this hits even harder.
Bio Shot
MP: 1
Deals 150% bio damage. Ranged attack. It may smell a little … funny …, but it’s super effective against Bug and Grass. Um, I mean, insects and plants.
Bio Blast
MP: 3
Deals 200% bio damage and causes Poison. Ranged attack. Leaves behind an absolute mess even crime scene cleaners would give a wide berth.
Twisted Nature
MP: 5
Deals 100% bio damage to all enemies and causes Poison. Certain hit. Environmentally not all that sound, but certainly a great way to carry off a group of enemies.
Dark Shot
MP: 1
Deals 75% dark damage absorbed. Ranged attack. Not a shot in the dark, but in fact a shot made of dark.
Dark Blast
MP: 4
Deals 150% dark damage absorbed. Ranged attack. Turns a hot summer day into a moonless night for a brief moment when loosed off.
Infrablack Hole
MP: 5
Deals 125% dark damage to all enemies with a 50% chance to cause Confuse. Certain hit. If there are eleven dimensions (or more?), why shouldn’t there be something darker than black? Come on, it’s not that far-fetched.
Holy Shot
MP: 1
Deals 150% holy damage with a 50% chance to cause Silence. Ranged attack. Could also be used as a flashlight, but fortunately, there are no dark caves in the game anyway.
Holy Blast
MP: 3
Deals 250% holy damage with a 50% chance to cause Silence. Ranged attack. You may be having a blast using this one, magically inclined demons won’t.
Astral Rayn
MP: 5
Deals 125% dark damage to all enemies with a 50% chance to cause Silence. Certain hit. Why not use your Holy Cannon for instant falling-star nightskies to jazz up your romantic moments?
Gears
Meteo Crusher
MP: 2
Deals 999 physical damage and removes Taunt. Extremely slow. Before you lose it, it doesn’t deal 999 piercing damage, so the enemy’s DEF will reduce the damage actually inflicted.
Rocket Rage
MP: 4
Deals 50% normal-attack damage to all enemies with a 50% chance to cause Stun. Extremely fast. If the game had character animations in battle, this one would look super awesome. Maybe in the next remake.
Vampyric Field
MP: 3
Deals 25% damage absorbed to all enemies and causes Bleed. Certain hit. Pretty versatile, pretty nasty.
First Aid
MP: 2
Restores HP to 75%. Extremely fast. A basic healing skill that can’t heal you past a certain threshold. Thus, it encourages using items, which in turn encourages searching for them. Game design theory.
Soothing Sphere
MP: 3
Restores HP of all actors by 7.5% and raises HP Regeneration by 5% for 3 turns. Slow, but ultimately very cost-efficient, especially when your Max HP become substantial.
Revitalise
MP: 3
Revives at 50% HP and raises ATK, DEF and TMP by 15% for 3 turns. In case of death, you probably need some kind of comeback mechanism, right? Well, this makes it a fair bit easier to stabilise after things have gone terribly wrong.
Enfeeblement
MP: 2
Enfeeblement X: Lowers ATK and DEF by 15% and causes Stun. Huge tempo gain!
Enfeeblement Y: Lowers ATK and DEF by 15% and clears buffs. Don’t underestimate this one!
Enfeeblement Z: Lowers ATK and DEF of all enemies by 15%. Very cost-efficient!
Corrosive Glue
MP: 3
Lowers TMP of all enemies by 15% and degenerates HP by 5%. Ranged attack. Only one glue at a time. Please note that this damage-over-time effect does in fact stack with other ones. If you prefer a more patient playstyle, it’s definitely possible to wear your enemies out like that.
Filthy Glue
MP: 3
Lowers TMP of all enemies by 15% and doubles fire damage taken. Ranged attack. Only one glue at a time. It’s a little disgusting to even use this, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Set those mingers ablaze!
Shut-Eye Gas
MP: 3
Causes Sleep on all enemies. And hopefully bad dreams. Don’t sleep on the sleep state, guys!
Aura Barrier
MP: 3
Halves elemental damage taken and MP Costs of all actors for 3 turns. A torchlightesquely versatile move. Look at that word!
Time Strain
MP: 1
Raises Action Times by 1 next turn. Let others do the dirty work (twice) or prepare for some double healing in advance of a devastating enemy attack.

Potion
User’s HP + 30
Only humans can use it. An RPG without potions is possible, but this one has them.
Great Potion
User’s HP + 75
Only humans can use it. Recent studies reveal that chests seem to turn Potions into Great Potions for true adventurers.
Estragon
User’s HP + 10%
Doubles Healing received for 3 turns and clears debuffs. Only humans can use it. I’m aware of the fact that the English-speaking world actually calls it ‘Tarragon’, but that doesn’t sound quite as good.
Honey
User’s HP + 100%
Only humans can use it. Please note that in the real world, honey exhibits gravely dimished health-restoration effects.
Repair Kit
Robot’s HP + 30 (used as Tinker: 75)
Clears debuffs. The robotic equivalent of a Potion or Great Potion respectively. Rather rare early on, but don’t worry, it’s going into the Merchant’s range of wares eventually.
Pearl of Wisdom
Lasse’s Max MP + 5, then MP + 100%
Yeah, um, spoiler alert! There’s a party member called Lasse. Did you know that spoilers can actually increase your enjoyment of a story? Google it (in a new tab)!
Crucial Circuit
Robot’s Max HP + 5
Only the Tinker class can use it. It’s not actually crucial, but definitely useful.
Extra Container
Robot’s Max MP + 3
Only the Tinker class can use it. Turn junk into magic!
Steam Drive
Robot’s ATK + 3
Only the Tinker class can use it. Gives you that little bit of extra damage that sometimes decides victory or loss.
Premium Plate
Robot’s DEF+ 3
Only the Tinker class can use it. Gives you that little bit of extra toughness that can sometimes be the deciding factor in the outcome of battle as well.
Gravita Fuel
Robot’s TMP + 3
Only the Tinker class can use it. Just a few litres of this fuel will turn your laboured robot into a mechanical ninja.
Star Capsule
Grants the user Zero Mode
Zero Mode is a buff that nullifies MP Costs for 3 turns. Taking a pill to unleash tremendous power and knock out some guys? Nothing questionable about that.
Collectibles
Heartberries
Witch apprentice Linve needs two of these to brew a healthy soup — so healthy it raises Elsa’s Max HP by 5. Heartberries grow throughout the game, so remember the location of the shrubs.
Chest Keys
One does not simply open a chest! At least not the ones appropriately called ‘locked chests’. A chest key is required. Like all good RPG keys, it breaks after being used.
Blue Crystals
The Jeweller who has recently arrived in Home seems to be looking for these mysterious gems, even though he doesn’t bother to tell you why. Oh well, what can possibly go wrong helping a tradesman in distress?
Obsidian Cubes
You can look inside, but not through them. Used by a desert tribe to dust sweet oblivion upon the realms of men.
Hazy Essences
Basically a trading item. Some ghosts and undead seem to be obsessed with these essences.
Black Material
A crafting material that has been in use for centuries. One might think people would have come up with a more sophisticated name for it at some point, but no.
Twilight Idols
Small figurines that can be placed on sockets in order to upgrade the Spellblade skills. The placement can be changed at any time, so feel free to experiment.

Shortsword

Like every good RPG, this one starts with a basic sword too.
Katanas
ATK + 6
There are two of these in the game. Can you guess their names? I’m sure you can.
Wildsilver Blade
ATK + 9
It’s silver and it’s a blade. Wielding it wildly is your job.
Excalibur
ATK + 3
Raises Blind Attack Rate by 25% and prevents Bleed. If you don’t know why, you may want to read up on the mythology.
Gram
ATK + 3
Raises Confuse Attack Rate by 50%. Spread the madness amongst your enemies and turn them into allies, sort of, sometimes.
Time Cleaver
ATK + 6
Raises Attack Speed by 12. Slay your enemies before they know what’s going on. Or before … actually doing it? No idea how exactly the physics work.
Lacerator
ATK + 6
Raises Bleed Attack Rate by 50%. You may be disappointed, but this is as brutal as the game gets. The icon does look rather bloody, though, doesn’t it?
Demise
ATK + 9
Raises K.O. Attack Rate by 37.5% and deals dark damage. Join the dark side! Something with cookies. Or was it the dark web then?
Angel’s Feather
ATK + 9
Raises HP Regeneration by 7.5% and deals holy damage.
Pikes
Lucifer’s Glaive
ATK + 6
Pikes are designed to deal massive damage to certain enemies. This glaive deals quintuple(!) damage to Gloomers, because depending on your playstyle, you may fight those a lot.
Windfaerie Spear
ATK + 6, Floating Enemy EXP + 6
Floating enemies have a 15% chance to evade your melee attacks. That can be annoying, especially for the Fighter class. This spear lets you take revenge for all the misses.
Jousting Lance
ATK + 6
If you’re the type of player who absolutely dislikes occasionally encountering Elite enemies, this lance is for you. It deals 500% damage to them.
Hammers
Wooden Hammer
ATK + 6
One thing that made Game Master difficult early on was the lack of a basic Tinker weapon. Back in the days, I thought I could get away with it. In Game Master Plus, a ‘wooden hammer’, as it was called, is actually included — and called exactly that.
Tronic Hammer
ATK + 12 → 18 → 24, Max HP + 6 → 9 → 12
The Tronic Hammer is back too, of course. Once again, it can be upgraded twice with material gained from salvaging the Fighter equipment.
Axe
Macht
ATK + 6 → 12 → 18
Spellblades actually use swords, sometimes daggers or scythes — anything with a blade, essentially. Only one of them decided to wield an ancient axe instead, and that is Lasse, the crown prince of Gardeth, the Kingdom of Spring, a monster-infested place located on the mainland. If you have chosen the Fighter class for Elsa, Lasse will join her — equipped with his mighty (but still upgradable) axe.

Fire Cannons

There are three tiers of primary-elemental cannons: I, II and III.
Ice Cannons
ATK + 6 → 12 → 18
Tier I enables you to use the respective ‘Shot’ skill, tier II the ‘Blast’ skill and tier III the ultimate skill.
Electro Cannons
ATK + 6 → 12 → 18
Tiered versions of cannons instead of upgrades allow you to equip multiple cannons of the same element when needed.
Bio Cannon
ATK + 18
Secondary-elemental cannons only exist in one version which is basically the tear-III one, except the number isn’t explicate in the item name.
Dark Cannon
ATK + 18
Like primary-elemental tier-III cannons, the secondary-elemental ones contain all three cannon skills of the respective element (‘Shot’, ‘Blast’, ultimate).
Holy Cannon
ATK + 6 → 12 → 18
You can only find secondary-elemental cannons in Tinker class chests.
Omega Cannon
ATK + 24
The final cannon in the game deals neutral damage. It is the strongest cannon statwise, but it doesn’t enable any skills. When you find yourself using gear attacks most of the time anyway, you may want to use this cannon to maximise your damage output.
Armour
Shields
Ironbark
DEF + 3
A shield made of special wood. Doesn’t burn to ashes or raise damage taken when hit by fire-elemental attacks.
Buckler
DEF + 6
Just an ordinary buckler a knight would use. Or a foot soldier. Or a peasant. Its boring design even makes the most dedicated tank seriously contemplate battle-role alternatives. It is effective, though.
Escutcheon
DEF + 9
Seriously, what is one supposed to write about common shields? The Escutcheon does its job.
Aegis
DEF + 3
Raises ATK by 10%. For people who just can’t decide.
Leviathan’s Scale
DEF + 6
Nullifies fire damage taken. There’s a specific boss battle where this shield can be extremely useful. Try it without!
Mirror Shield
DEF + 9
Raises Reflect Rate by 20%. Can also be used to refresh a heroine’s makeup. (No, it’s not an actual feature.)
Gears
Meteo Crusher
Critical Hit Rate + 15%
Crush meteors, moons or your opponents. Even with normal attacks, well, almost.
Rocket Rage
Counter Rate + 15%
A gear for vengeful robots. There are two of these to find, or three if you’ve chosen Tinker.
Vampyric Field
Max MP + 6
While the skill is useful too, you may want to use this gear primarily for the max MP bonus sometimes. There’s nothing wrong with that.
First Aid
Prevents Stun, Confuse, Silence and Sleep
The healer gear. Not only does it provide you with the arguably most useful healing skill, it also protects your healer against pesky paralysation effects, so that healing is almost always possible.
Soothing Sphere
Max HP + 10
Can you see it? The clever design? The percentual effect of Soothing Sphere gets more effective the more HP you have, and this gear raises exactly that! Mind-blowing game design!
Revitalise
ATK + 3, DEF + 3, TMP + 3
In case you haven’t noticed yet, Game Master Plus uses British spelling. Blinding, is it not?
Enfeeblement X/Y/Z
DEF + 15% / ATK + 15% / Enfeeblement Attack Rate + 15%
There are three versions of this gear — X, Y and Z — with different focuses and thus, different applications.
Corrosive Glue
Evasion Rate + 15%
You may argue that, statistically, evasion is the same as defence. But while you can’t count on evasion when contemplating your options, when you do evade, you also avoid getting debuffed. Plus, it feels awesome. So there’s that.
Filthy Glue
Combo Rate + 15%
As you may realise, the glue gears are linked to the dexterity moves you may perform when your TMP is higher than the enemy’s. This one is the more offensive of the two.
Shut-Eye Gas
Sleep Attack Rate + 15%
Put your enemies to sleep on a somewhat regular basis! Unlike sleep in real life, it probably won’t be very healthy for them.
Aura Barrier
Elemental Damage taken − 15%
Many enemy attacks are actually elemental ones, so don’t underestimate the effectiveness of this gear.
Time Strain
Attack Times + 1
Hit your enemy very hard. Then hit him very hard again.
Corselets
Revealing Armour
DEF + 3
This is why we can’t have equipment display on sprites. (This and the amount of work necessary to implement the feature.)
Knight’s Mail
DEF + 6
An ordinary piece of armour. It looks heavy, but surprisingly, it doesn’t hinder Elsa’s movement at all!
Metal Perfection
DEF + 9
The perfectly crafted corselet. Someone really knew how to blacksmith — and design fashionable armour.
Corleone
DEF + 3
Halves physical damage taken. Even though this is technically a tier-I armour, it should prove useful even in the lategame.
Rime Adornment
DEF + 6
Nullifies ice damage taken. It is highly recommended to wear something warm and comfy underneath this rime-covered piece of metal.
Eternal Glint
DEF + 9
An armour imbued with white magic, literally. Makes your enemies reach for their sunglasses (but doesn’t actually cause the Blind debuff). You will never need to polish this armour.
Waistcoats
Leather Waistcoat
Various Resistances
Provides Instant K.O. Resistance, Defensive-lowering Debuff Resistance and Damage-over-Time Debuff Resistance. For those who love honest combat (but still didn’t choose Fighter as their class for whatever reason).
Sanguine Silk
Max HP + 30
Prefer some solid stat boost over fancy effects? Here you go. It’s also red, your favourite colour. Huh? What was that?
Midnight Prayer
Evasion Rate + 15%
A waistcoat made from Titanium Thread that helps you avoid being hit (but doesn’t reflect projectiles). If you get the reference of the midnight prayer, let me know! Here’s a hint: It’s from one of the two most moving games of all time.
Robes
Royal Robe
Physical and Holy Damage taken − 50%
Just an ordinary royal robe Lasse comes equipped with. Befitting a god-chosen sovereign, it protects against secular and ecclesiastical sources of damage.
Spellblade Uniform
Fire, Ice and Holy Damage taken − 50%
What Spellblades use against their enemies shouldn’t harm them, should it? Therefore, this uniform protects against the three elements mastered by the class during their arduous apprenticeship.
Accessories
Blobby Drops
Max HP + 30
Earrings made from an ancient creature of immense wobbliness. Some say it was actually kind of cute. At least make good use of its remains, will you? Oh, but only girls can equip these.
Linve’s Hat
Max MP + 6
Only girls can equip it. Why? Would more Max MP possibly overpower a male character? Would it look too silly? Or would the hat simply not work because it’s a witch’s hat, after all? Nobody really knows.
Ralph’s Bandeau
ATK + 3, DEF + 3, TMP + 3
A number of old legends speak of Ralph as a hero. Raising his main stats by 3 with a bandeau probably wasn’t the source of his power, but it might have helped a bit.
Skywalkers
TMP + 15%
Oddly enough, any human character can wear these regardless of their shoe size. What kind of sorcery is this?
Raselet
Critical Hit Rate + 15%, Enemy Explosion Damage + 15
I’m constantly thinking about changing its name to ‘Racelet’. I just can’t settle for a variation of this lame pun.
Handbag of Healing
HP Regeneration + 5%
This masterpiece from some famous fashion designer’s autumn collection does not only emphasise anyone’s feminine side, it also contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Like, literally.
Mighty Belt
Counter Rate + 15%
There’s a little ‘S’ engraved on the buckle. What does it stand for? ‘Super’? ‘Strong’? ‘Sell this to the Merchant’?
Adventure Ring
EXP Gain + 100%, Item Drop Rate + 100%
Turns Potions in chests into Great Potions. With this ring, you can, um, prove to normal chests that you’re a true adventuress. That sounds silly, but hey, Great Potions, right? So, pro tip: Consider leaving pink chests unopened until you have found this ring.
Rainbow Ribbon
All normal accessory effects combined (Item Drop Rate bonus doesn’t stack)
Only girls can equip it. The static icon doesn’t show it, but the colours actually flow and change. Beautiful, but could be a bit distracting for your allies.
